Camping at Shoalhaven Heads with my parents was a great chance to just hang out. However it wasn’t all smooth sailing with us holding our tent up on Saturday night.! Literally holding it up so it wouldn’t come down on top of us as it buckled under the force of gale force winds and driving rain. The joys of camping.!

Well this is us not going to Hawaii. This year’s Stampin’ Up! trip is in Maui at the same location as last year’s cancelled trip. By the end of October each year we have to make a call as to whether we are going to take up the option for the trip the following year…
After my last couiple motorcycle tours overseas Deb was keen to join me on my next adventure. The Eaglerider Canada Yellowstone tour fit into our schedule perfectly. This was going to be the longest motorcycle tour we have done together and the first of this nature. The route looked amazing and covered a number of iconic National Parks. This was going to be a great test of whether we like this mode of travel.
Bemm River is somewhere I’ve been wanting to check out so this was a great opportunity. So a plan was put together incorporating longer and shorter routes so riders had a choice of how to get to our destination.
To date most of my ride fitness training for Deb has been limited to day rides. However, the ride in the States is going to be two weeks of riding so we need to start backing up ridings days.
When I talk to riders about a big ride I often get very different responses. For some a big ride is 300kms and others that’s just what you do before breakfast. So how do you prepare yourself for bigger days on the bike or a big multi-day tour?
I know there are plenty of riders out there who hate taking pillions for all sorts of reasons. Me. I enjoy sharing the experience with others. And there is something special in sharing the ride with your partner. I love riding and I love sharing that experience. And I certainly don’t subscribe to the notion of scaring…
