Book Review – Pushing Miles

In the dawn of the post-Covid era as the world was opening Ian and Wendy were attempting a monumental ride. Pushing Miles documents their 160,000km ride covering Australia and the USA.

An adventure of this magnitude makes for an incredible tale even where everything goes to plan. But when the universe seems to have it in for you and throws every conceivable thing at you, you have an epic story.!

Pushing Miles is more than a story of an epic motorcycle ride, it’s a human story of overcoming nature, motorcycle failures, and an unfathomable scale of mayhem going on around them. And through either sheer stubbornness or out of control optimism they just don’t give up.

Wendy’s great word pictures, meshed with Ian’s perspective of the unfolding events, provides a unique insight into this amazing journey.

At times this is brutally honest, funny, raw, and even hard to read. But this makes it even more real and compelling to read.

For more information about their ride and where to purchase their book see their website – pushing miles.

While this is a story of two long-distance motorcyclists, this is a great read, and I would highly recommend this book to anyone, even if you’re not into long-distance riding.
