Mad Max and the journey home

A few months ago I saw a story about a British Mad Max fan who moved his Mad Max collection to Silverton, about 30km out of Broken Hill.

So my plan had to incorporate a trip out to Silverton to have a look at the museum.

What made it even better was the owner is so passionate about Mad Max and was happy to share lots of great information.   It was then interesting to take some of the roads that were used.

I couldn’t take any photos inside but here’s a few from outside.

I must say I was surprised that the iconic Mad Max Intercepter parked outside the Silverton hotel was gone.  It was replaced with a bug on steroids.  Just not quite the same.

Once we had finished at the museum we had to point the bikes in the direction of home.   And that seemed like an appropriate time for the weather to turn miserable.  So from Broken Hill to Dubbo it rained.  We only stopped for fuel and breaks.

And at 9 pm we rolled into Dubbo.  Then on Sunday I made way home.
